Princess and the Gang got a mysterious invite to a party on a pirate ship which has a 98% chance to be haunted.
It turns out that the Captain of the ship didn’t send the invite. So…who did?
The art stayed good for like…the first five minutes which after that it dropped like a hat. Take a good look at cute Kiel over here. Bask in that sweet smile. Then scroll down and take a look at this.
What the actual heck did Corail do to deserve this?
I’m not going to complain if they rushed an in-between sequence but this is his introduction scene! It’s supposed to be where we get a good first impression of a character they want to sell merch for! Just to give you a reference, this is what he looks like in the game:
Despite the drop in the artwork quality, this episode has a lot of funny interactions between the princes of the sea. Also, first kiss of the series happened.
I never did like Orion in the game because he’s usually like: shut up and be my wife, but in the anime he was funny with his gang and didn’t have that sort of forced romance with the heroine so all is fine. I’m seeing a lot of Orion fans coming.
And finally the thing I like best about this episode is that the issues surrounding Kiel is coming to light. Also, Arvy is finally getting some hints that he might have a backstory and is an actual human being with issues. Seriously, all this time I don’t even know his motivation to stick around with the Princess and Kiel rather than go back to take care of his country and his dog, Fluff. Either it’s never explained or they did but I forgot. I don’t think his country was infected with the Dream Eaters plague to the point where everyone died and he’s out for revenge or anything.
Overall, funny episode, lots of characters, some development is happening, but still meh.
