Yume Oukoku to Nemureru Hyaku-nin no Ouji-sama (Yume100) Ep. 8 Review

Sheesh, I wish every episode could be as good as this one.

Kiel finally recalls that his father Yuan is dead and he has been living with Setiq, the organ guy, who taught him everything he knows. Setiq reveals that his motive for being evil is because Kiel wants to be just like his father, but Setiq thinks that Yuan is a one-of-a-kind king who can never be replaced, if I understood it correctly. He also talked about Kiel being the one who can make his dreams come true.

I don’t know if this episode is really that good or it’s just that I’m glad the main plot is finally going somewhere. I just know that for once I don’t find Kiel’s ‘probably’ annoying and Arvy isn’t being his usual cardboard self anymore. The heroine…is still the heroine. She barely has any function aside from stopping Yume 100 from being a yaoi anime. They mentioned the ring used to control the dream eaters but barely mentions her powers to counter that ring.

Also, Yuan is probably going to have something going for him. I really hope so. He seems like a charming character.

And finally, finally after eight episodes we have something going for Arvy, though it was nothing more than one still image.

  1. Yeah this show is kind of meandering and at this point I’m just glad its nearing the end. There have been a few good moments along the way but a lot has just felt like it has been pointless or it hasn’t been explained enough to give it a point.
    Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
