(Never) Island Ep. 7-9 Review: here we go again

And so it continues.

Island’s theme songs are fairly good now that I have appreciated it.

So five years ago Rinne came through the worm hole with the other Setsuna to Boryujima and came back, but in Urashima five years had already passed. Now she wants to go back to the other Setsuna to save him. Turns out the other Setsuna is dead and Rinne dies getting back to Urashima. Setsuna then goes into cold sleep in order to wait for Rinne to be reincarnated.

And then came episode 9, where the anime completely changed into some post-apocalyptic dystopia called Never Island and Setsuna got an amnesia. Again.

So my prediction is that he will probably get another amnesia after Never Island’s Rinne sends him back to the original timeline and the whole thing will start again.

It is so sad that other Setsuna died protecting Rinne, and then Rinne died protecting Setsuna. It would be great if other Setsuna could come back into the story some time. The change into Never Island came suddenly, and it’s strange how Rinne’s mom said that time completely stops inside the pod yet Setsuna forgot about why he came to Never Island. If time completely stops, his brain isn’t supposed to change and the amnesia shouldn’t have happened. I don’t know what to think about it anymore. It’s cool but it’s meh.

Right now the story is all over the place. All the mysteries with the previous Island wasn’t all solved. There’s still that sunlight disease and the other island but then the whole thing cuts to another timeline, making everything even more confusing. Oh well, there’s still another three episodes to go.

(Turns out there isn’t a damn wormhole. Boo.)
